Non-partisan group of business and civic leaders showcase candidates before election day
ATLANTA (October 6, 2025) – The Committee for a Better Atlanta (CBA) unveiled its 2025 Candidate Scorecard, offering Atlanta voters a detailed evaluation of contenders for Mayor, City Council President, and City Council.
CBA evaluated candidates through in-person interviews and written questionnaires, based on their alignment with the 2025 CBA policy platform, which outlines priorities in areas such as Public Safety, Economic Growth, and Critical Infrastructure, along with their ability to forge effective partnerships and lead the city. Candidates received scores for each policy pillar and an overall rating, offering voters insights into the candidates’ alignment with key priorities and leadership capabilities.
In total, 35 out of 44 candidates participated in the CBA process, including Mayor Andre Dickens, both candidates for Council President, and 9 out of 12 city council incumbents. Overall, 80% of the candidates who qualified for the upcoming election participated in CBA’s scoring process.
“It’s important Atlanta voters have a comprehensive voter guide to make informed choices about the next leaders of the City of Atlanta,” said Tiffany Callaway Ferrell, CBA’s Co-Chair and Vice President, Operations, Atlanta Gas Light. “As business and civic leaders, our role is not to endorse, but to offer voters a thorough evaluation of the candidate’s qualifications and understanding of Atlanta’s top issues.”
Notable scores include an “A” rating and an overall score of 96 for Mayor Andre Dickens. For City Council President, Marci Collier Overstreet received an “A” rating with an overall score of 90, while Rohit Malhotra received a “B” rating with an overall score of 83. Among city council candidates, 26 out of the 32 participants received either “A” or “B.” Full questionnaires and scores for participating candidates are available here.
“Transparency is at the heart of Committee for a Better Atlanta’s work,” said Jordan Dawson, CBA’s Co-Chair and Head of Global Government Relations and Community Affairs, NCR Atleos. “Our goal is that voters utilize our scorecard as they prepare to vote for Atlanta’s next leaders.”
