Mayoral, Council President, and Council Candidates Share Perspectives, Policies at Forum
ATLANTA (June 17, 2021) – The Committee for a Better Atlanta (CBA) today hosted an engaging forum that featured candidates vying for Atlanta’s key leadership positions, including Mayor, City Council President, and City Council members.
The event provided an impactful stage for candidates to share their vision for Atlanta and provide insight on how they would address the city’s most critical issues. The day-long forum was open to candidates who have filed their declaration of intent (DOI).
“This forum provides an important opportunity to educate Atlanta voters on where candidates stand on the issues that will shape our City’s future,” said Tiffany Callaway Ferrell, Co-Chair, Committee for a Better Atlanta and Vice President, Operations, Atlanta Gas Light. “CBA is proud to foster this connection, ensuring voters are equipped to make informed choices about Atlanta’s future leaders.”
The forum was the first opportunity for citizens to hear collectively from those who will be on the Nov. 4, 2025, ballot for Atlanta’s leadership positions.
Forum moderators posed questions to candidates about where they stand on the core issues addressed in CBA’s 2025 policy platform: Inclusive economic growth, safe neighborhoods, strong leadership and project delivery of major taxpayer-funded initiatives. Candidates tackled the pressing concerns facing Atlanta today, presenting their ideas and initiatives to an audience deeply invested in shaping the city’s future.
“Hearing directly from the candidates as they respond to our platform’s challenges is vital,” said Jordan Dawson, Co-Chair, Committee for a Better Atlanta and Head of Global Government Relations and Community Affairs NCR Atleos. “Engaged voting is the foundation of an inclusive and prosperous Atlanta.”
