2025 Policy Platform

As 2026 approaches, the City of Atlanta faces a pivotal moment—contending with rapid regional growth, infrastructure strain, housing affordability, and a fluctuating real estate market, all intensified by the lingering impacts of a pandemic and shifting federal funding landscape.

Large events like the 2026 FIFA World Cup and 2028 NFL Super Bowl will offer Atlanta opportunities to shine on the world stage – inflection points to create a lasting legacy: not an Atlanta for some, but an Atlanta for all. A truly world-class city that delivers on the “big” by prioritizing the “small,” from core services and affordable housing to greater pathways for entrepreneurship and equitable, well-maintained neighborhoods.

In response to these opportunities, the Committee for a Better Atlanta (CBA) has developed a comprehensive policy platform designed to guide Atlanta toward a more inclusive, resilient, and prosperous future ahead of the 2025 City of Atlanta Mayoral, City Council President, and City Council races. CBA is a nonpartisan business coalition whose mission is to foster a healthy business environment by advocating a common agenda to policymakers and citizens.

The 2025 policy platform focuses on four key areas:

1. STRONG GOVERNANCE, LEADERSHIP, AND PARTNERSHIPS

  • Renewed focus on project delivery of major taxpayer-funded initiatives
  • Ensure sound governance through fiscal responsibility and strengthened ethics
  • Improve strategic partnerships with regional entities and the broader business community

2. INCLUSIVE ECONOMIC GROWTH

  • Advance transformative projects that turn underutilized spaces into vibrant spaces
  • Enhance and expand local economic incentives to attract new jobs and produce additional housing
  • Sustain Atlanta as an event and tourism hub

3. SAFE AND THRIVING NEIGHBORHOODS

  • Accelerate affordable housing units through new funding and public land development
  • Improve public safety and cleanliness outcomes
  • Strengthen comprehensive solutions to address street homelessness

4. A SUSTAINABLE AND CONNECTED CITY

  • Bolster Atlanta’s transit and mobility options
  • Prioritize critical infrastructure upgrades for long-term reliability and safety
  • Position Atlanta as a leader in urban sustainability
